Cake Poker Deposit Bonus
Back To TopUse the Cake Poker bonus code GRINDERS2 to receive a 110% deposit bonus up to $600. This bonus is released in $5 increments every 84 Frequent Player Points (FPPs) and will expire in 90 days. All Cake Poker bonuses are not deducted from rakeback and will add significant rewards onto your Guaranteed 33% Rakeback.
Cake Poker Gold Chips
Back To TopEach rakeback player in a cash game table earns 0.5 FPPs for each dollar in rake dealt at that poker table; each $1 in tournament fees for rakeback players will generate 3.5 FPPs. For each 100 FPPs earned, players will receive 1 Gold Chip which you can use to purchase bonus cash or tournament tickets. Every 4 Gold Chips may be redeemed for $1 in bonus cash available at $10, $25 and $100 increments. Just like the deposit bonus, these bonuses are cleared in $5 increments every 84 FPPs and will expire in 90 days.
Grinderschool recommends saving your gold chips from your first deposit bonus to spend on more bonus cash after the original deposit bonus expires, but only buy the bonus cash you will be able to earn in 90 days or less. There is no benefit or savings for choosing the $100 bonus versus the $25 bonus, so you should only choose the minimum bonus cash at any time to conserve your Gold Chips.
Cake Poker Gold Cards
Back To TopPlayers earn Cake Poker Gold Cards at random when sitting at a cash game of any stake or level and you are still eligible to receive them even if you fold. While Cake Poker issues Gold Cards to all players, higher limit games receive more Gold Cards because they pay more in rake. The value of Gold Cards changes every day; some give you access to monthly cash and instant value while others will increase in value as they age.
The Gold Card number, suit and age all effect the value; from top to bottom the order of value goes: Spades, Hearts, Diamonds and Clubs. The Ace of Spades is the most valueable card to receive while the 2 of Clubs is the least valuable card. You can buy and sell Gold Cards on the Cake Exchange which increases the liquidity of the rewards. While some Gold Cards sell for over $100, most of them sell for less than $1.
Cake Poker Loyalty Levels
Back To TopYou may use the Cake Poker Loyalty program over Guaranteed 33% Rakeback, but Grinderschool does not recommend doing so. Each level has a set number of tiers within it; you must complete all tiers in a level to advance to the next level. Every tier you complete pays out according to your current level and the higher your level the more rewards you will receive. These rewards reduce your rakeback payment each month so Grinderschool recommends staying away from the Loyalty Levels and sticking with the Guaranteed 33% Rakeback.
Traffic at Cake Poker Network
Back To TopThe following table shows how the Cake Poker Network compares to other online poker networks during peak hours:
| Rank | Poker Network | Peak Players in Lobby | Cash Game Players |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Poker Stars | 200,000+ | 35,000+ |
| 2 | Party Poker | 22,000+ | 7000+ |
| 3 | iPoker | 18000+ | 6000+ |
| 8 | Merge | 10,000+ | 2500+ |
| 21 | Cake | 3000+ | 1000+ |
| 33 | Winning Poker | 1000+ | 300+ |
The 6-max NLHE games at Cake Poker may have more traffic than the Merge Gaming Network depending on the stakes. For full ring games, Cake Poker ca't match the traffic on the Merge Gaming Network at any stake, although it did have several tables going at each level. A high volume full ring player will likely have to play multiple stakes to be able to max out their tables and still have a hard time table selecting well.
| Game | Type | Number of Tables | Total Players |
|---|---|---|---|
| Texas Hold’em | No Limit | 121 | 782 |
| Texas Hold’em | Limit | 13 | 58 |
| Omaha | Pot Limit | 21 | 133 |
While Cake Poker has several MTT guarantees, they were all at or under the $5000 mark. Expect the average field to be at least half of similar tournaments at the Merge Gaming Network. For Sit & Go tournaments expect the same result: There are very few 10-man SNGs that run above the $10 mark with most of SNGs either 6-max or heads-up.
Cake Poker Rake Calculation
Cake Poker uses a “dealt” rake calculation, which means that in cash games, you earn points for every hand dealt, whether you enter the pot or not. Players on the site are awarded Frequent Player Points (or FPPs), which can earn bonuses and rewards. For every $1 raked a table you play, you earn one FPP. For every $1 in tournament fees paid, you earn seven FPPs. The rake rate at Cake for a NL hold ‘em cash game is $.01 per $.15 in the pot.Overall Cake Poker Review
Back To TopCake Poker has had the same problems with cashing out as other USA poker rooms has and expect delays of 6 weeks or more to receive your funds. Grinderschool recommends micro and small stakes players to play on Cake Poker for the highest guaranteed rakeback.
The biggest benefit going for Cake Poker is that they continue to have the highest Guaranteed 33% Rakeback, but only if you use our Cake Poker Download and deposit bonus code GRINDERS2.
